How it all works:
1. Choose your session date
Sessions must take place in 2024 and you can book from May - December 2024.
2. Pay your session fee:
The session fee is $149 and is due to book your session. This includes everything mentioned above and more!
3. Sign your contract:
Sessions are not booked until your session fee is paid and contract signed.
4. Choose your collection:
All clients utilize pre-session payment plans or payment is collected in full. Post-payment plans are not available, but financing options like AfterPay and Affirm are accepted at any time.
5. Prep for your session:
I’ll send you a series of emails that will help you prepare (from head to toe!) including your wardrobe guide, stretching tips and ideas, hair and makeup suggestions, and more!
6. Session Day:
Your session will take place at my studio in Akron, OH. You’ll start your day at 8:45am with hair and makeup, then come to the studio for your session at 11am. Your photo session will last 60-90 minutes total. After that, we’ll take a quick lunch break. Then you’ll see your gallery of fully retouched images, choose your album design, pick out any additional add-ons, and you’ll be all set!
PLEASE NOTICE: Post payment plans are not available at this time. All upgrades must be made on the day of your session.
7. Delivery:
Digital images will be delivered on the day of your session. Your printed products (album + wall art) will be delivered within 7-10 business days.

What Do I Wear For My Boudoir Session?
It all begins with an idea.
One of the amazing perks about working with Kristen Jones Boudoir is our incredible Client Wardrobe.
Our Client Wardrobe (which is included in your Boudoir Session Experience) contains sizes XS-6X, averaging a total of about 300 total pieces at the studio. We have a variety of styles available like bodysuits, 2 and 3 piece sets, corsets, robes, and bustiers. If you're not sure what some of those things are (I get it, before I was a boudoir photographer I had NO IDEA what a bustier was), Google it! There are so many different styles and cuts of lingerie available out there and we try to showcase items to fit and flatter all body types and accent different styles and personalities. Also in the Client Wardrobe is a variety of high heels and jewelry including necklaces, pearls, and body chains!
We keep our Client Wardrobe clean and sanitary by laundering, sanitizing and/or dry cleaning each item between every single use.
Not sure about using the Client Wardrobe? That's okay! Some clients decide to shop around for lingerie to bring with them on the day of their shoot. Totally fine! If you do purchase or bring your own, we suggest nothing with print or pattern. When it comes to color, simple is best - it is also much more elegant and classy which is something you will appreciate in your photos!
I will say that 90% of the women who do bring their own lingerie end up wearing one or two pieces from our Client Wardrobe at the studio. By no means do you have to bring anything to your session - the only things we ask of you are to bring a black and a nude seamless thong, and any thigh highs or fishnet stockings if that interests you. We certainly love stocking looks!

What is Boudoir?
Boudoir is the French word for a woman's bedroom, so it makes sense that a boudoir photo shoot is typically thought of as a sexy photoshoot. Clients typically wear sexy outfits - lingerie, stockings, undergarments, dresses, etc.
If you've been following our studio for any amount of time, you'll notice we talk a lot about Boudoir and we provide you with a plethora of information on how to prep for a shoot, but we don't often explain what exactly Boudoir is and what it means.
Boudoir is the French word for a woman's bedroom, so it makes sense that a boudoir photo shoot is typically thought of as a sexy photoshoot. Clients typically wear sexy outfits - lingerie, stockings, undergarments, dresses, etc. It doesn’t always have to be like that though! Personally, when I think of a boudoir shoot, I think of it as more of a confidence booster. While some women believe wearing sexy clothing helps them build confidence, that’s not always the case. Many women choose to wear items of clothing that they wear every day (i.e.- a tank or tee, a fitted button-down shirt, a robe, a jersey, etc.) that will remind them of that photoshoot every time they wear it. We welcome your creative input and remember, you are part of your styling team too!
While some women choose to do a shoot for a significant other (birthday gift, wedding present, anniversary, etc.), it typically ends up being a gift for themselves more so in the long run. Sessions do SO MUCH to lift you up and give you back a sense of self, and a refreshed feeling of confidence. Your partner will look lovingly at the images too, but the true feeling of transformation will only be felt by you, our client, and the subject of the images.
Most of my clients have shared that booking a shoot initially brought on feelings of anxiety, but ended up being a huge confidence builder for them. We are here for you every step of the way and can often talk you through the different feelings and emotions you may feel before your session. Always reach out!

Why Boudoir Photography Isn’t Cheap, But Worth It
$1500 seems like a lot of money, but it doesn’t come out to much when you break down the costs and expenses of each session.
In a perfect world, photographers would be able to do photography for the love of it. Nobody would have bills and everyone would get to be creative and have fun without worrying about a thing! But that isn’t the case for you, and it isn’t the case for us either. Let’s talk about it.
First off, the session fee.
The session fee includes:
• pre-session consultation
• pre-session prep guides & access to our private online support group
• professional styling & wardrobe advice
• professional hair & makeup with lash application
• 2-3 wardrobe outfit options
• access to the client closet (xs-4xl)
• 90+ minute photo session
• head-to-toe posing & facial coaching
• custom flow posing based exclusively on you
• access to exclusive bonus sets and props
• professional retouching of all images
• same-day image reveal
for $500 (regular priced).
But it does not include digital images & printed products, like albums and wall art.
Why?
Here’s a cost breakdown of what your session fee covers:
• Hair & makeup: $160
• 2 hour studio rental: $150 (sessions typically last 6+ from start to finish)
• Income tax: 30% ($57 after HAMU & studio)
• Client closet outfits: $10-$20 each outfit
This leaves around $113 in “profit” or salary for 8+ hours of my time and expertise in which I give you all the best experience I possibly can… which would work out to less than $15 an hour for an 8 hour day.
I’d have to photograph 265 clients a year to make $30k and 442 clients a year to make $50k… which is impossible to do without sacrificing the quality of the experience I give to my clients.
Next, I want to discuss the things my clients don’t see. The crawlspace of the business, if you will! As a small business owner, it’s true that I wear many hats. A few of them are: marketing manager, social media content creator, advertising specialist, office manager, payment collector, photographer (of course), professional photo retoucher, website creator and designer, customer service representative, and more!
Sounds like a lot, am I right? Truthfully, it is. But each of these jobs pays anywhere from $30k-$70k per job. That means, if I charged for each job that is required of me to run this business, I’d be making hundreds of thousands of dollars. Heck, I could be making over a million! But that isn’t practical or feasible, so photographers don’t do it. But I do think we can all agree that no CEO we’ve ever met was making $15 an hour and they’re often far less involved in their own business than a small business owner is.
So while I would absolutely love to offer photography that “doesn’t cost an arm and a leg”, I would literally be bringing in $0 income to help support my family and my husband would never stop working again. I think it’s fair to say he deserves a partner who can contribute at least as equally as he does to the family, right?
I really hope you guys can understand that I am NEVER trying to scam you or over-inflate my pricing to be greedy. I only aim to be paid enough for all the time and expertise I pour into each client experience (the same way you aim to be paid enough for your time and expertise in your line of work).
