5 Qualities You Should Look For In Your Boudoir Photographer

There’s a thousand things I can tell you about a boudoir session, but it boils down to the photographer you choose.

Have you ever tried being naked in front of a stranger? That can be awkward as hell.

You want to pick a photographer who you’ll click with personally and professionally. Here are 5 things you should look for in your boudoir photographer (even if it isn’t me).

  1. Professionalism. You probably don’t want a photographer taking pictures of your nether regions if they aren’t professional and running their business accordingly. Your photographer should have a contract and model release and a professional manner about them (they don’t have to have a stick up their arse about things, just some bit of professionalism).

  2. A buddy system. If your photographer will not permit you to bring someone to your session with you, this is a huge red flag to me, personally. Whether your friend waits in the car or in a waiting room, they should permit you to have a friend at the session with you in some capacity. If they don’t, I strongly suggest that you don’t work with that photographer.

  3. A good sense of humor. You’re going to want to laugh and feel at ease during your boudoir session. Working with someone who can’t make you laugh (or at least smile) can make a vulnerable moment an uncomfortably vulnerable moment. I like to make women laugh during their session because it breaks tension and relaxes their features, plus who doesn’t love a good laugh? Many women have forgotten they’re doing a sexy, sensual boudoir shoot because of the goofy nonsense I’ve said and done during a session to crack a smile.

  4. Maturity. This one honestly goes without saying, but I’m going to say it anyway. Maturity is an ESSENTIAL quality to have in a photographer who’s going to see a lot of your boobs, but and vagina. I’ve had my boobs grabbed and adjusted by my boudoir photographer and it was the same as if a gyno was touching my crotch. Maturity and professionalism are a must for your session.

  5. Integrity. It’s easy to be manipulated and abused by somebody you don’t know. A boudoir shoot is the absolute last place you want to be taken advantage of. Your photographer should be completely open and honest with you. No bait and switch marketing ideas, no hidden fees or hidden rules or stipulations. Everything should be completely open and honest at every interval of the process and you should have complete say over what happens and doesn’t happen before, during and after your session.

Now you know some things to look for in a boudoir photographer, so start looking! If this photographer doesn’t have even one of these qualities, I’d pass on their services and find someone else. There are hundreds of us across the country, you’ll find someone that fits your idea of a good photographer and a good time.

Until next time my lovely ladies!

Stay gorgeous, stay
